As on-site fire personnel fought to extinguish several bonfires blazing within the crowd, heavy-metal veterans Megadeth powered their way through the final notes of Woodstock '99 last night.
Megadeth's performance on the west stage offered a relentless attack of old and new tunes, including the single "Crush 'Em," of "Risk", their forthcoming album. Mustaine had the crowd chant "Crush, crush, crush," before heading into the number, which featured call-and-echo-style verses with Mustaine's voice and Marty Friedman's guitar against an almost disco-style beat.
